Eye Problem
For all eye problems, splash water on your eyes and do Nasal Cleansing in the morning and evening. Soothing the eyes is another way of resting them. Do Eye Exercise to tone your eyes Remove your glasses or contact lenses when you exercise Blink and look away from the object when you were looking at to release tension from the eyes For cataract, eye splashing can help. Other recommended exercise are Alternate Nostril Breath, Half Moon Posture, Crocodile Posture, Cobra Posture, Deep Relaxation Exercises, Forced Alternate Nostril Breath, and Folded Tongue Breath.
Common Cold
Do Breathing Exercises like Rapid Abdominal Breathing to clear your respiratory system. Postures like the Bow Posture, Fish Posture and Cobra Posture help clear congestion in your chest and also improve your immunity to diseases.
Sinusitis
To clear your sinuses, yoga prescribes Nasal Cleansing, Cleansing Breath and Forced Alternate Nostril Breath.
Asthma
Yoga tries to cure asthma by cleaning your lungs and making you emotionally strong so that you do not react to stressful situations. The postures prescribed drain mucus from your lungs, and relax your lung muscles. Yoga also teaches you to breathe correctly. Alternate Nostril Breathe, Bee Breathe and Bellows Breath all help clear your lungs.
Bronchitis
Yoga not only clears your lungs but also gives you the will power to give up smoking through Meditation. The Breathing Exercises oxygenate your lungs, and increase their flexibility. By strengthening your immune system, they also reduce your dependency on medication.
Backaches
Strengthen your back and tone your spine by doing the Cobra Posture, Mountain Posture, Cat Posture, Wheel Posture, Boat Posture and Single Leg Lifts. All Backward bends are good for backaches.
Constipation
Yoga recommends a high-fiber diet and regular exercise. Eat fresh fruit, vegetables and drink lots of water. Drink 2 glasses of luke warm water and then do Rapid Abdominal Breathing as you hold the final position of Shoulder Stand. Then do the Foetus Posture and jog for some time to stimulate your bowels. Other beneficial postures are Plough Posture, Sun Salutation, Triangle Posture, Spinal Twist, and all the Forward Bends and Backward Bends. Sit in the Thunderbolt Posture for at least 10 minutes after every meal.
Hyperacidity
Yoga aims to cure this problem by altering the state of mind and calming one down physically and mentally. When stress does not stimulate excess secretion of gastric juices, the ulcers heal naturally. Do the Warm Ups, especially Sun Salutation, and then the Standing Postures. Alternate Nostril Breath and Abdominal Lock. Sit in the Thunderbolt Posture for at least 10 minutes after every meal.
Indigestion
Yoga aims at curing this ailment by teaching us how to eat correctly so that food does not upset the digestive system. It recommends chewing food slowly and concentrating on eating.
Do the Corpse Posture to alleviate minor digestive complaints.
Postures that massage your abdomen and internal organs, like the Fish Posture and Foetus Posture, are good for improving digestion.
The Sun Salutation also helps tone the digestive system.
Obesity
Control what you eat and how much, in order to lose weight. Do not overeat, eat less than what your body needs to work and live.
Yoga recommends a high fiber, low calorie diet to reduce obesity. It helps you control your mind so that you do not crave food. Some postures helps in reducing obesity. They are the Shoulder Stand, Thunderbolt Posture, Plough Posture and Forward Bend.
AIDS
Yoga helps in dealing with AIDS. It is said to prolong life by making the healthy immune cells more effective. But the most valuable feature of yoga with regard to AIDS is that it gives you the mental resolve and strength to face this disease. The Breathing Exercises, Relaxation Exercises, Plough Posture, Shoulder Stand, Thunderbolt Posture and all the Backward Bends can help in dealing with the problems associated with AIDS.
Cancer
Yoga teaches you to give up and avoid harmful habits like smoking by giving you mental strength through Meditation. Do the Sun Salutation and Breathing Exercise. Yoga Sleep also helps you to deal with the pain and reduces the feeling of nausea during chemotherapy. However, a yoga specialist or a Doctor needs to supervise your yoga practice.
Anxiety
Daily yoga sessions help overcome anxiety. Do postures and then relaxation breathing or meditation. Anxiety can make you tired. To maintain your stamina, break up your yoga sessions into several short ones, instead of one long one. Limit your smoking and intake of tea, coffee and alcohol. Try to eliminate their use completely. Depending on your level of anxiety, you will need weeks or months to overcome it.
Depression
To counter depression, do nasal cleansing every morning and also practice rapid abdominal breathing. Release your trapped energy by doing three fast rounds of the sun salutation and quick relaxation exercises. Then calm your mind with deep relaxation exercises.
fatigue
For fatigue, do the Corpse Posture for about 5 minutes to calm your body and breathing exercises to rejuvenate yourself. Do the Backward Bends and the Butterfly Posture.
Avoid like coffee. Reduce your intake of sweet as much as possible before noon. Eat a low-fat diet so that you remain energetic.

Headaches
Yoga aims at reducing chronic headaches by calming your mind. For immediate relief, try Nasal Cleansing. Do Neck Exercises three times a day. (But avoid this if you have neck problems or neck aches). Deep Relaxation Exercises with cold pads over your eyes, Breathing Exercises and Meditation can also provide relief. Do the Reclining Hero Posture, Horizontal Cobbler Posture, Standing Forward Bend, Canine Posture, and Head-to-Knee Posture. Wear a bandage round your head but not too tightly.
Insomnia
Yoga calms your mind so that you doze off to sleep easily. It helps you get the deep and restful sleep that your body and mind need, so that you feel refreshed and energized the next day. Do the Shoulder Stand and Forward Bends. A Meditation session in the evening and a warm bath before sleeping help. Ideally, you should not eat for at least six hours before getting into bed.
Heart Disease
Yoga helps you cope with this stress so that you do not need to depend on smoking or eating unhealthy food. It also helps you find contentment from within. The Relaxation Exercises like Corpse Posture, Breathing Exercises and Meditation are very effective in dealing with this problem.
Hyper Tension
Yoga can be supplement for drug treatment or surgery. Do yoga daily, and try to remain calm during stressful situations.How you react to stress determines your blood pressure. Do the Breathing Exercises, Meditation and the Corpse Posture.
Diabetes
Yoga can be an effective supplement to diabetes treatment. It helps in controlling the blood sugar level by helping your pancreas to produce more insulin. If diabetes is caused by lack of exercise or stress, yoga eliminates your dependence on insulin treatment.

Massage your joints and do the Breathing Exercises to increase circulation. Rapid Abdominal Breathing, Alternate Nostril Breath, Bee Breath and Meditation also help. Avoid sour food and artificial products.
